For sites running 2.6 or older, with add-ons

Upgrading to WP Job Portal 2.7.0

Thirty-seven add-ons became one free plugin and four products. Your key keeps working, nothing is deleted, and your jobs, companies and applications stay exactly where they are. This page says what moves, what you do, and in which order.

01 — THE SHORT VERSION

Update, paste your key, install, then switch the old add-ons off.

NOTHING BREAKS ON UPDATEYour old add-ons keep running after WP Job Portal updates. The free plugin and the new products step aside for every add-on that is still active, so nothing loads twice.
YOUR KEY, ONE SCREENPaste the key you already have into WP Job Portal → Licences. It shows which products your key covers and installs them in one click.
YOU DECIDE WHENThe new products take over the moment you deactivate the add-on they replace. Switch one off, check it, move to the next. Switch it back on and the add-on answers again.
02 — WHAT IS NEW IN 2.7.0

Fewer plugins, one licence screen, and a long list of fixes.

The full list is in the plugin's changelog on WordPress.org. These are the parts you will notice.

Four products instead of thirty-seven add-ons

Pro, Marketplace Suite, Recruit Suite and Smart Search & Matching. Each needs only the free plugin; none needs another.

Twelve add-ons are now free

Shortlist, Tags, Job Alert, RSS, Social Share, Print, Tell a Friend, Copy Job, Cron Job, All Companies, Job Listing Enhancer and Widgets are part of the free plugin.

Licences and add-ons screen

One key covers your whole plan. Install, activate and update every product it covers from one screen, or all of them with Install all.

Every download is checked

Installs and updates are compared with the checksum published with the release before they are unpacked. A file that does not match is deleted and nothing is installed.

A shorter setup

New sites set up in four steps, with sample data that fits the site and can be removed in one go.

Fixes you may have hit

The salary, currency and education filters, resume search by postcode, the RSS feeds, the Insufficient Credits popup, and the update from 2.6 that could end on WordPress's error screen.

03 — WHERE YOUR ADD-ONS WENT

Find your add-on, read across.

Nothing was taken away. Every feature you paid for is in the product on its row.

12 into the free plugin All Companies, Copy Job, Cron Job, Job Alert, Job Listing Enhancer, Print, RSS, Shortlist, Social Share, Tags, Tell a Friend, Widgets
13 into Pro Address Data, Advanced Resume Builder, All Resumes, Cover Letter, Departments, Export, Folders, Messages, Multi Resume, PDF, Reports, Resume Search, Visitor Apply
6 into Marketplace Suite Credits, Featured Company, Featured Job, Featured Resume, Multi Company, Visitor Add Job
5 into Smart Search & Matching AI Job Search, AI Resume Search, AI Suggested Jobs, AI Suggested Resumes, Smart Matching
1 into Recruit Suite Resume Action

Social Login is discontinued. If you have it, it stays installed and keeps running as it is, without further updates; nothing in 2.7.0 replaces it.

Two that work a little differently

Elegant Design Its look is inside Pro now. If your site uses it today, it stays on after you deactivate the old plugin, with the same colours. Any Pro site can switch it on or off under WP Job Portal → Colors → Design.
Address Data The full city database ships inside Pro and is imported on your own server. Cities you already loaded stay; switching the old add-on off no longer resets the city setting your company form relies on.
04 — YOUR LICENCE

The key you have is the key you use.

No new key is issued and nothing has to be bought to upgrade.

It covers what your add-ons became

A key that carried Featured Job now covers Marketplace Suite; one that carried Resume Action covers Recruit Suite. The Licences screen lists exactly what yours covers.

Same price, same renewal date

Nothing renews at a new price without you accepting it. Moving to one of the new plans is optional; ask us and we will price it against what you already pay.

Staging does not use a site

A matching staging or local copy runs on the same key, so you can rehearse the upgrade there first without spending an activation.

Where to find it

In your account on this site, under Licenses, and in the email you received with your purchase.

If it has expired

Everything you have installed keeps working, and none of your data is removed. Installing the new products needs an active key, so renew first.

Old add-ons stay yours

We never delete an add-on from your site. Deactivated ones can stay installed as long as you like.

05 — A SAFE ORDER

Install the new first, switch the old off second.

The new products wait while an old add-on is active and take over the moment it is switched off, so in this order there is never a moment with neither.

1

Back up the site

Files and database, the way you normally do. If you have a staging copy, run the whole upgrade there first; it does not use a site on your key.

2

Update WP Job Portal to 2.7.0

From Dashboard → Updates, like any plugin from WordPress.org.Download the 2.7.0 ZIP from the Download page, then go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose it. WordPress asks whether to replace the version you have: choose Replace current with uploaded. Once 2.7.0 is on WordPress.org it also arrives in Dashboard → Updates. It needs WordPress 6.2 and PHP 7.4 or later. Your add-ons are untouched and the site works as before.

3

Paste your key and install

Open WP Job Portal → Licences, paste your key and choose Save and activate. Then Install all. Each product it covers is downloaded, checked and switched on, and waits quietly beside the add-ons it replaces. Pro and Smart Search & Matching need WordPress 6.5 or later.

4

Switch the old add-ons off, one at a time

In Plugins, deactivate an old add-on, then open the page it served — the job list, a dashboard, checkout — and check it. The free plugin or the new product takes over immediately. If anything looks wrong, activate the add-on again and it answers as before; then tell us.

5

Delete them when you are sure

There is no hurry; a deactivated add-on does nothing. When you delete one, do it with WP Job Portal active: several old add-ons try to remove their database tables on the way out, and WP Job Portal keeps every table the free plugin or a new product still reads — credits and invoices, cover letters, departments, folders, messages, job alerts, shortlists, tags — and tells you which ones it kept.

06 — WORTH A LOOK AFTERWARDS
Updates for the new products appear on Dashboard → Updates, with automatic updates if you turn them on there.
Job Alert now runs in the free plugin weekly; Pro adds daily, monthly and instant alerts and the admin tools.
New shortcodes and blocks are listed under WP Job Portal → Shortcodes, beside the ones you already use.
Your shared job and company links keep working: existing sites keep their jobs page address.

Not sure about your site? Ask before you start.

Tell us which add-ons you run and we will tell you what your key covers and anything to watch for.
